About Aaron Compton

Aaron is a writer of fiction and poetry. He has had his fiction published in Te Korero Ahi Ka, and The Westerly, and is working on more. His current works-in-progress is Songbirds of Zealandia, a biopunk/transhuman series of novellas, and a YA historical fiction series.

He's worked in various parts of the cultural sector, including many years as an educator in Tairawhiti Museum and Te Papa Tongarewa | Museum of New Zealand. Aaron also worked in theatre, galleries, and had some memorable times as an artist assistant. As a child his parents owned a huge old antique/second-hand shop in Masterton, New Zealand, and he began learning his valuable retail skills there. Many of these experiences will feature in future publications.

His degree in digital film making never gets used-- it was the screen writing aspect which interested him. His teaching qualifications haven't been dusted off for a while, either.

Aaron lives with his family in Aotearoa/New Zealand.
