author and stuff
Aaron Compton is over being cool. He's 50 now, FFS, and he knows a classy looking website ain't gonna cut it.
He's a writer of short stories, lush poems and unedited first drafts of novels.
He has a very cool looking Sir Julius Vogel Prize sitting on his shelf, he scored that as co-editor of
Te Korero Ahi Ka, an anthology of New Zealand speculative fiction.
That was a while back though, what's he done recently, apart from digging his vege patch and being a stay-at-home Dad for a couple of cool kids?
Most recently, in public, he's been chief writist of Poetry of Objects on Gizzy Local, a couple of which he's turned into audio; take 4 minutes for a listen to some lush, imagery-rich poetry exploring the world behind beautiful but everyday objects, hit this button here.
Been published in some stuff. Has classy looking website he doesn't update enough.
His most recent fiction is a short story in Kaituhi Rāwhiti, a celebration of (NZ) East Coast writing, which he co-edited.
Volume 2 coming in 2022.
